CASE STUDY OBJECTIVES
After completing this case, users will be able to:
- Describe overweight/obesity and associated risks and risk factors
- Undertake nutrition assessment on overweight and obese individuals by collecting and interpreting nutrition assessment data including food/nutrition-related history, anthropometric

- Critically assess nutrition assessment data to prioritise nutrition issues of concern, select Nutrition Diagnoses and create PES Statements for an individual with overweight/obesity
- Apply knowledge of food, nutrition, physical activity, health and disease to develop a client-centred nutrition prescription and interventions for overweight/obesity
- Develop a therapeutic diet for weight management including appropriate nutrient sources and meal plans
- Develop a Monitoring and Evaluation Plan with nutrition outcome measures and performance indicators for a patient with overweight/obesity
- Document the nutrition care process using accepted standards
- Explain the diet-disease relationship
