Description
The NCPro Palliative Care case 16 addresses decisions made during Palliative and Hospice end-of-life care. Lillie is a 73 year-old retired nurse, who has breast cancer which metastasized to her bones, liver and lungs. She was told that there were no treatment options 24 months prior to your encounter with her. Lillie is cognitively aware of her situation and is capable of making decisions about her care. Her son lives 6 hours away and visits one or twice per year. Her next-door neighbour is her primary caregiver and visits with her several times each day.
